About the Opportunity:

The SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER, CLUSTER SCALABILITY role is responsible for developing core infrastructure for a distributed database system. The position focuses on data partitioning and building distributed components that unify query processing and storage into a cohesive system. The role directly impacts the system's scalability, elasticity, and workload execution efficiency, ensuring reliable performance at scale.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement distributed data partitioning and scaling features
• Develop data movement and dynamic scaling protocols
• Address complex performance and system resiliency challenges
• Collaborate on building robust, scalable database infrastructure
• Participate in code and design reviews

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience building distributed systems
• Proficient in C++ with experience delivering production-quality code
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software architecture
• Expertise in system design for large-scale distributed environments
• Understanding of modern computer architecture and system internals
• Demonstrated success or research in high performance networking, distributed systems, or system observability
