Job Title: Lead Software Engineer – Anaplan Financial Planning

Location: Fully Remote

Duration: 6-Month Contract (Potential for Extension/Conversion)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 40 Hours/Week | EST Business Hours

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer – Anaplan Financial Planning to join a high-performing enterprise planning team. In this role, you will design, develop, implement, and support scalable Anaplan solutions that enable budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, and financial reporting. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver enterprise planning solutions that support strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Anaplan Solution Development

  • Design, build, test, and deploy scalable Anaplan models for budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain modules, lists, hierarchies, actions, processes, workflows, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
  • Apply Anaplan best practices including DISCO, PLANS, and Planual standards.

Solution Architecture

  • Design scalable, maintainable, and high-performing Anaplan solutions.
  • Define model architecture, security frameworks, integration patterns, and data flows.
  • Optimize models for performance and scalability.

Financial Planning

  • Partner with Finance and FP&A teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Develop financial models supporting P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and workforce planning.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and management reporting.

Integrations

  • Develop and maintain integrations between Anaplan and enterprise applications such as ERP, HRIS, CRM, and data warehouse platforms.
  • Support APIs, ETL processes, and Data Hub architectures.
  • Troubleshoot integration and data flow issues.

Application Lifecycle Management

  • Manage deployments across Development, Test, and Production environments.
  • Utilize ALM, Revision Tags, and deployment best practices.
  • Support release management and change control processes.

Performance & Governance

  • Monitor model health and workspace utilization.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Implement role-based security, selective access, dynamic cell access, and governance best practices.

Leadership

  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Anaplan implementation experience.
  • Certified Master Anaplanner designation.
  • Professional Model Builder Certification.
  • Experience developing enterprise planning solutions within Anaplan.
  • Strong expertise in Anaplan modules, lists, line items, formulas, actions, and processes.
  • Experience applying DISCO methodology and Anaplan modeling best practices.
  • Experience with ALM, Revision Tags, and multi-environment deployment strategies.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Experience creating dashboards, reports, and UX pages in Anaplan.
  • Experience integrating Anaplan with enterprise applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Solution Architect Certification.
  • Experience with CloudWorks, Anaplan APIs, and Data Hub architectures.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, or ETL technologies.
  • Experience supporting large-scale global planning implementations.
  • Experience in SaaS or technology environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
