Job Title: Principal Software Engineer

About The Role
You will join the team building a unified cloud-native platform that serves over 1 million scientists worldwide. Your code will directly support the "Design-Make-Test-Decide" lifecycle, helping pharmaceutical and biotech companies bring life-saving therapies to market faster.
The Technology Stack
- Core Backend: Python (Some legacy Java)
- Cloud Infrastructure: AWS (S3, Lambda, EC2, RDS)
- Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
- Frontend: React / TypeScript (for full-stack context)
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Architecture: Design and own architecture for critical components of their Data Factory and Lab Notebook Suite ensuring high availability and scalability for processing petabytes of scientific data.
- Hands-on Development: Write high-quality, testable, and secure Python for complex data transformation pipelines and RESTful microservices.
- Technical Leadership: Guide and mentor senior and mid-level engineers on best practices, code reviews, and design patterns without necessarily having direct management reports.
- Innovation: Prototype and integrate emerging technologies (including AI/ML workflows) to enhance the capability of scientists to analyze chemical and biological data.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Management and UX to translate complex scientific requirements into robust technical specifications.
Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of Software Engineering experience
- 5-10+ years of Technical Lead experience, driving AI business initiatives
- 5-10+ years of designing and implementing AI infrastructure, including building applications powered by LLMs
- 5-10+ years of programming skills in Python and Java
- Bonus: Experience with Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, or laboratory workflows is a significant plus.
- Bonus: Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related field.
