The Opportunity:
A year ago, our Founder/CEO temporarily stepped into the marketing leadership role to begin re-engineering our growth strategy, targeting a step function improvement in CAC efficiency. We’ve made significant progress since then, with monthly new MRR up 53% while churned MRR is down 26% and marketing expenses have decreased 49%.
We're looking for an A.I. forward marketer to lead the continued evolution of our growth engine, leaning into emerging technologies and the new approaches that they enable to further our trajectory toward greater and more cost effective growth.
We assume this will involve even deeper adoption of A.I. capabilities as they continue to become more powerful. As such, we are seeking someone who is already down the learning curve with real, hands-on experience implementing A.I. to positively impact results. The key is not implementing A.I. for the sake of it, but rather in pursuit of greater impact.
As we continue to learn, we will expect this leader, and our marketing team overall, to share insights with our Product and Engineering teams to influence how we will further empower our customers to grow through our offerings.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Owning Growth Strategy: Develop, execute and iterate on a marketing strategy that drives near-term results while building toward long-term sustainability and success.
- Crafting Effective Growth Systems: Establish repeatable, scalable approaches to customer acquisition that complement one another to drive greater outcomes.
- Leading with Data: Build competitive advantage with how we acquire and leverage data to achieve outsized results. Accurately incorporate new insights into our work. Iterate rapidly.
- Prioritizing Ruthlessly: Marshall our limited time and capital toward the most promising opportunities in front of us at any point in time. Ensure clarity across the entire team on what we are - and aren’t - investing in at any point in time, and why.
- Executing as an Expert: Given our lean team, this will be a player-coach role for the foreseeable future. You will own execution for one or more channels/strategies.
- Elevating our Execution: Enforce high quality standards, even as we experiment with emerging techniques. Ensure we’re delivering intentional, effective messages to the market. Evolve our brand voice to better educate, convince and convert our audience.
- Inform Product evolution: Work with our Product and Engineering teams to bring our lessons learned to customers through our offerings. Uncover new opportunities through market engagement and research.
- Leading your Team: Guide our teammates and help them grow. Leverage outside partners where impactful. Encourage a culture where we try new things, learn from what happens, and strive for excellence.
What You Need to Bring:
- Passion for the field of marketing and helping small businesses succeed.
- Significant success in product-led software marketing, with a clear history of being able to drive highly efficient growth. A big plus for experience with low-ticket B2B SaaS.
- Expertise in one or more digital marketing channels - and strong proficiency in others.
- Strength in strategic communications. You’re seasoned in developing themes and messaging that drive our objectives forward - as well as avoiding potholes along the way.
- Experience with owning growth strategy, from leading discovery, definition and prioritization of focus areas, to effective communication of priorities, and managing a team to execute the plan efficiently and effectively.
- High comfort level with the more technical aspects of modern-marketing, including but not limited to topics such as tracking and attribution, leveraging data at scale to drive improved performance, integrating disparate tools, executing growth experiments, development of landing pages and funnel optimization.
- Learned experience iterating through the automation of marketing processes with A.I. over an extended period of time. Be able to speak to how you improved results while ensuring quality experiences, and how you’ve navigated ethical considerations.
