Overview

The Senior Data Scientist will leverage their expertise in programming, statistics, data gathering, data cleansing and visualization to define, generate and distribute actionable insights across the organization. This role is primarily focused on predictive and prescriptive modeling efforts while also contributing to generative AI initiatives.

You will be responsible for performing data analysis, developing algorithms, building predictive models and forecasting solutions and effectively communicating technical findings to a broad range of stakeholders. In addition, you will identify emerging AI opportunities, guide data architecture needs, optimize data flows and help operationalize insights through end-user tools. This role will also require the use of cloud-based AI tools particularly leveraging AWS services such as SageMaker, Bedrock and related AWS AI/ML services to develop, deploy and manage models efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of analyzing structured and unstructured data to produce healthcare-focused, data-driven insights and recommendations for business partners.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns and insights that can inform product development and optimization
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers and other stakeholders to define data requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Develop and implement predictive models, machine learning algorithms and statistical analyses to guide product strategy and decision-making
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to improve product features, user experiences and customer satisfaction
  • Design and conduct A/B tests and experiments to validate hypotheses and measure the impact of product changes
  • Develop data pipelines and maintain robust data systems to support ongoing analysis and reporting needs
  • Communicate complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders, translating insights into actionable recommendations
  • Mentor and guide junior data scientists in their professional development and technical growth
  • Stay current with emerging trends in data science, machine learning and product management, applying innovative techniques to enhance product outcomes
  • Develop responsible AI frameworks to ensure models are interpretable, equitable and aligned with regulatory and company ethical standards

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
  • Five years of experience in data science, with at least two years of experience in a product management or technology-driven environment
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R or SAS as well as experience with language processing algorithms, machine learning and data segmentation classification
  • Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and statistical analysis techniques
  • Solid understanding of product development processes and how data science can be applied throughout the product lifecycle
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to draw insights from complex data sets
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences
  • Experience designing, querying and optimizing relational databases to support data analysis, feature engineering and model development
  • Cross-cultural and team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
