Engineering Manager, Backend Services

Responsibilities Include

• Define, promote and support a consistent software development process
• Manage a team and help them prioritize, build, and ship the most impactful features to our prospects and customers
• Work with services architects to provide a clear engineering roadmap, define criteria used to build the platform. Roll up your sleeves and work hands-on with engineers to ensure the right pieces are being built
• Own platform initiatives as a strategic leader but also be willing to perform day to day duties alongside team members as a coach and mentor.
• Make data-driven decisions using telemetry collected from customers and production systems.
• Uphold the team to high standards, develop the team to deliver software with high quality.

Required Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science / Engineering or relevant work experience

• 8+ years of professional experience in software development

• Proven history of successful product development leadership having shipped one or more successful large budget products in a services engineering leadership role.

• Technical leadership experience as a people manager (2+ years)

• Demonstrated ability to be analytical and have strong problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication, collaboration skills and a strong teamwork ethic with both technical and non-technical audiences

• Experience working with Azure or Similar Cloud Environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an organization that embraces modern infrastructure tools such as Kubernetes, service mesh, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code
• E-commerce experience
• Management experience in small and large organizations
