OverviewSoftware Engineer for ModelOps Squad (Remote, Europe) at Svitla Systems, Inc.Base pay range: $60,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yrSvitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Consultant Software Engineer with deep Python expertise for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Europe.

Our client is a broker platform that offers brokers real-time risk capacity anytime, anywhere, using a proprietary algorithm to underwrite risk and the latest machine learning technology to make faster, more informed decisions.

It was developed with University College London (UCL) support to underwrite risks and automatically quote for business through an always-available digital platform built with Google Cloud.The platform is available to brokers 24/7 and ready to quote consistent and reliable follow capacity from four Lloyd's of London syndicates.

Brokers can determine the insurance risk on the platform in just 10 seconds, a process that usually takes 2-3 weeks.

The algorithm behind the platform underwrites the risk and determines how much capacity to offer to that risk.

The algorithm of today is enabled by more than 50 Machine Learning (ML) models, maintained and iterated in-house by a multidisciplinary team, and can draw in data from a wide range of internal and external sources.

The company also uses large language models (LLMs) to help structure the vast quantities of data locked in policy and claims documents.We are looking for a Consultant Software Engineer with deep Python expertise to join the Model Ops Squad.

This team is responsible for building and maintaining MLOps infrastructure, including systems for feature storage, model serving, and model monitoring.

Your work will be instrumental in operationalising machine learning workflows in a modern cloud-native environment.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of backend engineering and MLOps and is passionate about delivering robust, scalable, production-grade infrastructure for ML applications.Tech Stack and EnvironmentLanguages: Python.Cloud: GCP.Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes.Monitoring: Grafana, Prometheus, Tableau.Search/Analytics: Elasticsearch, Kibana.Version Control & CI/CD: GitHub, Dekster.Requirements5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.Strong Python development skills, particularly for backend and API services.Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.Familiarity with model deployment pipelines and cloud-based MLOps practices.Ability to work independently and deliver in an asynchronous, distributed setup.Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
