What you will be doing in the role of a Director, Digital Marketing
The Director, Digital Marketing, collaborates with marketing and peer-to-peer teams to develop the necessary strategies and oversee the execution of digital and media advertising programs required to attract and engage new and existing donors/fundraisers. This leadership role is pivotal in achieving organizational financial goals, increasing ROAS and maximizing efficiency in digital marketing channels and promoting the Komen brand. This is the only role within the organization specifically dedicated to these efforts, providing support for Komen to expand it’s donor base, deepen engagement and drive revenue growth. The leader will leverage his/her technical, analytical and creative expertise to support, expand and optimize digital campaigns across our multi-channel mix.
From a strategic standpoint, the candidate must possess a strong understanding of what makes a powerful narrative and how it's best deployed across audiences leveraging digital platforms; and tracking, testing and optimizing the right mix of words, images, audio, or placement to attract and engage various audiences. The candidate should be proactive and strategic about identifying game-changing platforms and methods for distributing and amplifying our message. The ideal candidate should possess an extensive background in digital marketing, analytics, and advertising platforms, tools, and methodologies.
This is a leadership role requiring a high degree of cross-functional coordination across Komen and third-party agencies. The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional with demonstrated success holding progressively responsible positions in digital marketing with a focus on creating compelling brand experiences, messaging, and identifying emerging market trends utilizing digital channels. He or she should be motivated to enhance the world’s leading breast cancer brand.
What You Will Bring To The Table
- Employ a variety of operational skill sets to drive successful marketing outcomes through the strategic design, implementation, and execution of multi-channel digital campaigns (programmatic, search, social, et al).
- Working closely with other Marketing and Fundraising leaders, you have both a strategic and operational lens that allows you to assist with building thoughtful, audience-centric campaigns and execute, monitor, and report across digital channels.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Fundraising teams and digital marketing vendors to craft, implement and monitor digital strategies that provide for profitable growth.
- Collaborate with internal partners (i.e. IT, Development, and Mission) to ensure execution of marketing programs meet needs and expectations across business areas.
- Track, measure and drive positive ROI growth among all digital programs.
- Understand end-to-end campaign execution (setup, optimization, insights, reporting, and billing) across programmatic, search and social channels.
- Ensure digital marketing excellence, ensuring the highest possible brand and consumer experience.
- Analyzing campaign performance, preparing details reports and creating presentations for senior leadership. These deliverables will include insights, strategic recommendations and investment proposals to optimize individual giving and peer-to-peer fundraising strategies.
We know you will have and be able to
- Bachelor’s degree required and at least 7 years of progressive experience specifically in marketing, advertising, communications, public relations, or related field.
- Solid understanding of marketing objectives, pixel strategy and how different channels & tactics influence consumer behaviors along the traditional consumer funnel. Including digital media marketing, SEM, SEO, eCommerce, social media, mobile development, web development, analytics, CRM and user experience.
- Deep knowledge of tracking, testing, and automated optimization capabilities within various digital channels and platforms, including experience with customer segmentation rules to design, deliver and track a variety of message alternatives to specific customer groups and identifying the optimal mix of messaging that drives higher conversion and revenue growth.
- Knowledge of platform campaign flow - including creative development/acquisition, platforms.
- Data Analytics: Dive into daily campaign metrics to find audience insights that can be applied across channels, maximizing performance and future recommendations as well as drive data storytelling.
- Ability to translate strategy, data and technical set-up requirements with vendors, then make sure reporting explains results in a meaningful way.
- Results-oriented leader that builds high-performing teams and effectively manages vendors, delivering brand communications via digital and direct to consumer marketing campaigns.
- Experience working with a variety of digital media platforms (programmatic, search, social, video, audio).
- Strong strategic skills that are grounded in sound data and analyses, and reporting skills to synthesize and communicate findings in succinct, meaningful, directional results.
- Demonstrated skills in analytics tools including Google Analytics, BI tools, and CRM tools like Salesforce.com, with ability to interpret data, translate complex and varied inputs, and provide clear coherent recommendations.

- Strong collaboration and partnership skills. Ability to effectively influence stakeholders and gain consensus at all levels of the organization.
- Solid understanding of web metrics, digital analytics, and ability to generate, analyze and interpret data.

- Ability to manage multiple projects on various levels with different and converging timelines.

- Approximate salary of $102,000 - $145,000; exact compensation ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's skills, experience and geographic location.
