About Superpal
We're building Superpal - an AI digital employee that lives in Slack (Teams coming next), connects to a thousand-plus SaaS tools, and does real work for small, agile teams. Past prototype, backed by venture capital. Early customers in beta are hitting rate limits when it comes to usage, scaling toward a public launch, and shipping new features daily.
We are in the most future-forward category when it comes to application-layer software, and directly working on a product such as ours opens an incredible opportunity for further career growth. Every single tier 1 company you can think of is currently, and will in the future, hire people who have worked with a product like ours.
Way of working
You will be working in a horizontal structure, shoulder to shoulder with both co-founders, where your impact will dictate the product’s direction in a very meaningful way. Building in a competitive space like ours, you need to be curious, open-minded and humble when it comes to testing new tools and
growing together with them.
We work on-site, in Vilnius.
What you'll work on
You'll touch the whole stack - backend services, the agent runtime, infrastructure, security, LLM integration. If a piece needs building, it's yours to pick up.
What we actually need from you
- Senior-level backend engineer. You've shipped real production systems and made crucial architectural decisions. Five years plus, but years matter less than what you've built.
- Comfortable with TypeScript, or willing to switch into it. If you've been writing Node, Nest, Fastify, Express, Adonis, or similar - great. If you're coming from PHP (Symfony/Laravel), Go, Java, Python, or C# and willing to switch, also great. Type discipline matters more than language background.
- You've worked with containers and at least one cloud. Docker is a given. Kubernetes is a big bonus. GCP, Azure or AWS, any of them is fine.
- You're curious about AI and agents. You don't need a job-history bullet point on LLMs - but daily use of Claude Code, Codex, Cursor etc. and strong opinions on when to use them (and when not to) is non-negotiable.
Nice to have
- TypeScript and Node specifically
- Kubernetes in production
- GCP (we're on GKE)
- Redis, Postgres
- React or Next.js - we have a custom dashboard, admin panel and a landing page
- Web scraping (Playwright, headless browsers, anti-bot work)
- Built something on the Anthropic or OpenAI API
- Built dev tools / custom CLIs before & know how to optimise them for DX
- Message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka) - not needed now, but we may go there soon
What we give in return
- Up to 7,000 gross/month, depending on seniority, salary review every 6 months
- Founding engineer equity (1-3%)
- Equipment, conferences, AI-tool budget (€300/mo)
