Performance Marketing Manager (Subscription Growth)

About the Role
We are looking for a Performance Marketing Manager to lead paid growth for a subscription-based digital business. This role is focused on acquiring high-quality subscribers, improving payback periods, and scaling profitable growth across paid channels.
You will own performance marketing strategy end to end, from campaign setup and creative testing to funnel optimization, CAC efficiency, and retention-aware growth. We are looking for someone who understands that in subscription businesses, success is not only about getting purchases, but about acquiring customers who stay, renew, and generate long-term value.
What You’ll Do
- Plan, launch, and optimize paid acquisition campaigns across channels such as Meta, Google, TikTok, YouTube, and other relevant platforms
- Manage and scale subscription-focused growth with close attention to CAC, ROAS, payback period, LTV, retention, and churn
- Build and test full-funnel strategies for customer acquisition, conversion, and first-month profitability
- Work closely with creative, product, and analytics teams to generate new ad angles, hooks, landing pages, and conversion experiments
- Analyze cohort performance to understand which campaigns bring the most valuable long-term subscribers
- Improve trial-to-paid conversion, paid onboarding performance, and revenue efficiency
- Monitor attribution data and work with tools such as GA4, Amplitude, Mixpanel, AppsFlyer, Adjust, RevenueCat, Stripe, or similar
- Run structured A/B tests on creatives, offers, pricing communication, checkout flows, and landing pages
- Report on weekly and monthly growth performance, highlighting scaling opportunities and inefficiencies
- Continuously research competitors, market trends, and winning subscription growth tactics
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in performance marketing, preferably in a subscription-based digital business
- Strong understanding of subscription metrics such as CAC, LTV, churn, retention, trial conversion, renewal behavior, and cohort analysis
- Hands-on experience managing meaningful media budgets with clear accountability for performance
- Proven track record of scaling paid channels while maintaining or improving efficiency
- Strong analytical thinking and confidence in making decisions based on data
- Experience working with mobile apps, digital products, online education, SaaS, content platforms, or similar subscription businesses is a strong plus
- Ability to work closely with creative teams and identify what messaging drives conversion
- Comfortable moving fast, testing often, and learning from data
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with mobile subscription products
- Experience with landing page testing and CRO
- Familiarity with RevenueCat, Stripe, App Store / Google Play subscription flows
- Understanding of retention levers beyond acquisition, including onboarding, engagement, and lifecycle marketing
