About The Role
The Staff Motion Designer at BILL plays a pivotal role in bringing our brand to life through compelling visual storytelling and innovative motion design. Reporting to the Director of Design, this position involves leading the development and evolution of motion standards, style guides, and templates that align with our brand identity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality motion graphics for a variety of marketing assets, including digital experiences, hype videos, educational content, campaigns, email marketing, and event visuals. This role requires strategic interpretation of creative briefs, collaboration with stakeholders, and mentorship of team members to foster a culture of excellence. The Staff Motion Designer will proactively analyze workflows, propose improvements, and drive programs that streamline operations and support the company's strategic marketing goals. As a key member of the Creative Studio, this individual will collaborate across teams, mentor junior designers, and contribute to a creative environment that values innovation, quality, and growth.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of proven impact in motion design, with a portfolio demonstrating complex ideas transformed into compelling visual narratives
- Deep understanding of core motion design principles, including editing, compositing, storyboarding, UI/UX, and strong design fundamentals such as form, color, composition, layout, and typography
- Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop), and familiarity with creative AI workflows
- Experience with 3D software such as Cinema 4D or Blender is a plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present work professionally and explain design decisions to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Experience mentoring and leading creative teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and evolution of motion standards, style guides, and templates to ensure brand consistency across all marketing assets
