About The Role
GovCIO is seeking a highly skilled AI Data Analyst & Project Manager to join our team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Chief AI Officer (CAIO) organization. This fully remote position is integral to advancing the VA’s artificial intelligence initiatives by providing comprehensive data analysis, project management, and operational support. The successful candidate will work closely with CAIO leadership, technical teams, and stakeholders to track AI project progress, develop performance metrics, and facilitate the execution of strategic AI programs. This role requires a versatile professional capable of managing complex data sets, generating insightful reports, and coordinating cross-functional activities in a fast-paced environment. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to impactful federal AI projects that improve veteran services and healthcare outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, performance measurement, or related analytical functions.
- Proven experience providing project or program management support for large, complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong ability to collect, clean, validate, analyze, and interpret data from diverse sources.
- Experience developing and maintaining metrics, KPIs, dashboards, scorecards, and performance reports.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate technical findings into clear insights.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and project management tools.
- Experience with data visualization or business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and adapt to evolving organizational needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for executive-level briefings and technical documentation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
Responsibilities
- Collect, organize, analyze, and validate data from various AI programs, platforms, and initiatives across VA.
- Develop and maintain standardized metrics and KPIs to measure AI adoption, utilization, performance, and organizational impact.
- Create dashboards, scorecards, reports, and visualizations to provide leadership with visibility into AI project status and outcomes.
- Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and areas requiring leadership attention.
- Partner with initiative owners to establish consistent data collection methodologies and reporting standards.
- Evaluate data quality, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and decision-making.
- Translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support ad hoc data analysis requests for executive reporting, congressional inquiries, and strategic planning.
- Assist in developing project plans, milestones, schedules, and success metrics for CAIO initiatives.
- Track project actions, dependencies, risks, issues, and deadlines, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
- Coordinate activities across technical, policy, governance, and operational teams to facilitate project progress.
- Facilitate meetings, document decisions, and ensure follow-through on action items.
- Identify potential project risks and escalate issues to leadership proactively.
- Maintain project trackers, status reports, roadmaps, and other program management artifacts.
- Provide operational support to CAIO leadership, including research, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Support the development of executive briefings, presentations, and decision materials.
- Conduct research on emerging AI technologies, policies, and federal requirements to inform organizational strategy.
- Assist in improving CAIO processes, workflows, governance, and operational procedures.
