UI Visual Designer (Mid-Level) – 12-Month Contract

About The Opportunity

Join a leading digital experience team at Suncorp and play a key role in shaping high-quality, customer-focused digital experiences. As a UI Visual Designer, you’ll work within a collaborative UX Centre of Excellence, creating polished, delivery-ready visual designs across web and mobile platforms.

This is an exciting opportunity for a junior to mid-level designer looking to build their craft, expand their digital portfolio, and contribute to meaningful user experiences within a well-established design system.

More Specifically, You Will

You’ll work closely with UX Leads, senior designers, and cross-functional teams to bring digital experiences to life:

UI Design & Visual Asset Creation

• Design high-quality UI assets for responsive web, with support for mobile (iOS/Android) where required
• Design and ideate iconography, illustrations, imagery, diagrams, and interface graphics
• Optimise and export design assets to meet digital performance and quality standards
• Ensure alignment with brand, accessibility, and design system guidelines

Design Systems & Collaboration

• Work within established Figma design systems and component libraries
• Refine layouts, typography, colour, spacing, and visual hierarchy with strong attention to detail
• Apply accessibility best practices (contrast, readability, touch targets, etc.)
• Collaborate with product, content, UX, and development teams to deliver consistent, user-friendly outcomes
• Support design system maintenance and ensure assets are ready for developer handover

UX Contribution

• Assist with user flows, discovery activities, and usability-driven improvements
• Incorporate feedback and continuously improve designs under guidance from senior team members

What You’ll Bring

• 2–4 years’ experience in UI, visual, digital product, or graphic design
• A strong portfolio showcasing UI design and digital interface work
• Proficiency in Figma (components, auto-layout, variants, styles)
• Solid understanding of responsive design, layout, typography, and visual hierarchy
• Experience preparing and exporting digital assets for web and app use
• Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design principles
• Strong attention to detail and a collaborative mindset

Nice To Have

• Experience with iOS/Android UI assets
• Motion design or prototyping skills (e.g. micro-interactions, Lottie, After Effects, Figma prototyping)
