About The Role

As a Platform Product Owner, you’ll lead the vision, strategy, and delivery of our integrated engineering platform based on GitHub Enterprise, that underpins our engineering modernisation. This is designed around platform engineering principles including self-service, paved paths, built-in security, and increased developer autonomy. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams across Technology & Operations, engineering, and partners to drive platform adoption, streamline migration from legacy tooling, and enable a seamless developer experience.

What You'll Do

• Define and lead the GitHub Enterprise platform product vision and roadmap, aligned to platform modernisation and developer experience goals.
• Lead a large-scale transformation, coordinating multiple workstreams (SCM migration, CI/CD modernisation, governance, AI enablement) to deliver a unified engineering platform for our internal users.
• Own and prioritise the platform backlog, balancing business value, developer experience, security, and regulatory needs.
• Drive migration delivery (e.g. Bitbucket → GitHub, Jenkins → Actions), ensuring smooth sequencing, minimal disruption, and clear stakeholder alignment.
• Partner with engineering, infrastructure, architecture, security, and vendors to define platform standards, operating models, and governance.
• Build AI natively into the SDLC, positioning agents as first-class platform users, and enabling GitHub Copilot, automation, and self-service workflows to support both human developers and autonomous delivery agents. Enable self-service and paved path platform capabilities such as templates, reusable workflows, and standardised pipelines to increase autonomy, flow, compliance, and platform adoption.
• Manage partner and vendor engagement, ensuring delivery alignment, managing risks, and optimising outcomes across multiple teams.
• Track platform adoption and performance, using data and insights to continuously improve outcomes and developer experience.

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience as a Platform Product Owner / Technical Product Manager, ideally in DevOps, developer platforms, or internal tooling.
• Experience delivering large-scale migrations or transformations, managing multiple concurrent workstreams and dependencies.
• Strong understanding of GitHub Enterprise and modern DevOps platforms (CI/CD, governance, developer experience) and Platform Engineering principles.
• Experience working in AI-enabled engineering environments, including Copilot or similar tools and understanding how AI can be embedded into delivery workflows.
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills, with the ability to align diverse teams and partners to a shared outcome.
• Solid strategic thinking and prioritisation capability, balancing speed, risk, and value in a complex environment.
• Good technical and data literacy, enabling effective collaboration with engineering teams and informed decision-making.
• Ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, managing competing priorities with clarity and focus.
