Role Overview:

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer with hands-on experience in Peppol and e-invoicing projects to spearhead the development, integration, and deployment of compliant e-invoicing and Peppol-based solutions. The ideal candidate will bring strong architectural expertise, leadership skills, and a proven track record in delivering scalable, secure software solutions within the regulatory tech space.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of Peppol-compliant solutions (e.g., SMP, SML, AP, AS4).
• Manage full lifecycle development of e-invoicing modules including validation, transformation (XSLT), and tax authority integrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of secure, compliant, and efficient systems.
• Maintain and extend existing Peppol and e-invoicing infrastructure.
• Own integration with ERP/accounting systems and third-party platforms.
• Guide the engineering team in applying best practices for software design, CI/CD, DevOps, and secure development.
• Stay updated with evolving country-specific e-invoicing mandates and ensure product alignment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in Peppol/e-invoicing projects.
• Strong understanding of Peppol BIS specifications, AS4 protocol, and document validation using XSLTand Schematron (SVRL).
• Proven experience in Java, Spring Boot, or Node.js-based backend development.
• Familiarity with regulatory environments and compliance requirements in markets like Singapore (InvoiceNow), Malaysia (LHDN), UAE (DECTC), and the EU.
• Solid experience with AWS, databases, and secure data handling.
• Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience integrating with tax authorities (e.g., IRBM, IRAS etc).
• Exposure to international e-invoicing initiatives and frameworks.
• Contribution to open-source e-invoicing or Peppol projects.
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading agile teams.
