We're looking for a Marketing Data Scientist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging the power of data to drive meaningful growth, optimize marketing campaigns, and provide crucial insights to key stakeholders.
This position is a full-time contract role and is required to work Monday-Friday during Pacific business hours.
What You’ll Do:
- Proactively Surface Insights: We’re looking for someone that gets excited for hidden gems in our data and will proactively analyze, extract important trends and surprising insights, and bring them to the rest of the team so we can act on them.
- Generative AI: Leverage the power of AI to augment everything you do. Use AI to brainstorm approaches, generate prototypes, debug code, write up documentation, etc.
- Campaign Optimization: Optimize spend, targeting, etc. for multi-million dollar paid media campaigns, in partnership with the rest of the marketing team.
- A/B Testing & Experimentation: Design, analyze, monitor and interpret A/B tests and other experiments.
- Forecasting & Budgeting: Create traffic and revenue forecasts, ROI projections, and performance benchmarks to better inform long term planning.
- API Integration: Integrate with APIs (e.g. Adwords, Meta, Semrush, etc.) so that we have all the data necessary to monitor and improve campaign performance.
- Data Modeling: Model attribution in a world of offline and multi-touch channels (marketing mix modeling, multi-channel attribution).
- Data Transformation: Build, update and maintain ETL pipelines for accurate and timely channel performance reporting and analysis.
- Reporting: Build and maintain Tableau dashboards that are used daily across the marketing team and other key stakeholders.
- Analysis: Perform extensive data deep dives and present to stakeholders and leadership
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, product, and data science teams to translate business needs into data questions and deliver impactful insights.
What You’ll Bring To The Role:
- 5+ years of experience in a highly technical Marketing Data Science or related role (ideally for an online business)
- BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field (master’s degree or PhD a plus)
- Experience and excitement for leveraging the latest generative AI technologies to solve problems faster and better than we could before.
- Strong proficiency in SQL (e.g., Google BigQuery and MySQL)
- Proven track record of managing and optimizing paid media campaigns
- Experience building and using Marketing Mix Models and handling multi-channel attribution
- Experience writing code, (ideally Python and Java)
- A willingness to work in a face-paced, dynamic environment while juggling multiple projects
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for innovation with a data-driven approach
- Experience creating complex data visualizations in Tableau or a similar tool
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with pieces of our specific tech stack, including BigQuery, MySQL, Cassandra, Python, Java/Groovy, Tableau, Jenkins, Linux, and Google Cloud
- Hands-on experience with advanced statistical concepts and machine learning models.
