A frontier AI startup backed by $150m in funding is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to build the distributed backend systems powering autonomous coding agents. The team includes alumni from OpenAI, Google Research, Microsoft AI, and NASA, combining deep foundation model work with serious CS research in formal verification.

They’re building agents that modernize, translate, and secure enterprise codebases, particularly for businesses operating at the edge where performance, security, and provable correctness are critical.

This is a hands-on, deeply technical position focused on architecting distributed systems for autonomous agents and building high-performance backend services in Python. You will be designing orchestration and execution infrastructure for large-scale code transformation and will ensure reliability, scalability, and security in production environments

Experience Required:

• 8+ years in backend engineering
• Deep Python expertise
• Strong distributed systems design experience
• Background in compilers, static analysis, or language tooling (desirable)
• Exposure to formal methods or verification (a plus)
• Proven technical leadership
