We are looking for an experienced Email Marketing & Lifecycle Automation Specialist to lead the migration of our client’s email and lifecycle programs to Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), and to own ongoing lifecycle strategy and execution across web, mobile apps, and Shopify.
This position will start as a contract role, with the clear goal of growing into a full-time position at our company if there is a strong fit.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for end-to-end implementation and management of email and lifecycle marketing in Brevo, including:
- Migrating from Yotpo to Brevo (lists, templates, and flows)
- Rebuilding and improving all lifecycle and transactional flows
- Integrating Brevo with our web app, iOS and Android apps, and Shopify store
- Managing ongoing campaigns, testing, reporting, and optimization
Key Responsibilities
1. Platform Migration (Yotpo → Brevo)
- Export and import subscriber lists, segments, and campaign data from Yotpo into Brevo.
- Recreate automation logic and templates from Yotpo in Brevo, ensuring key triggers and business rules are preserved.
- Properly handle unsubscribed and suppressed contacts so opt-out history is maintained and compliant.
2. Lifecycle & Transactional Email Flows (Brevo)
Design, build, and maintain workflows in Brevo for:
- User Account & Registration
- Adventure Challenges / Activities
- Payments & Billing
- Affiliate Program
- Gift Cards
- Group / Multi-Account Registrations
- Support & Help Center
- Seasonal & Promotional Campaigns
All of the above should be implemented as structured, reliable automations in Brevo (marketing automation + transactional messaging).
3. Shopify Integration (Brevo + PushOwl + Shopify)
- Connect Brevo to the client’s Shopify store and ensure customer data, purchase history, and order status sync correctly.
- Configure e-commerce workflows such as abandoned cart, post-purchase sequences, and product/collection-based follow-ups.
- Ensure product catalog and customer tags are available for segmentation and personalization.
4. Web & Mobile App Integration (Web, iOS, Android)
- Work with developers to implement Brevo API / SDK integration into the web app and native mobile apps.
- Ensure that key events (e.g., sign-ups, profile changes, purchases, subscription changes) update contacts and trigger the correct flows in Brevo.
- Set up and maintain webhooks or API calls so email automations always reflect real user behavior and account status.
5. Transactional Email Setup
- Configure Brevo SMTP/API for critical transactional emails (e.g., password resets, billing alerts, receipts).
- Create templates that are on-brand, accessible, and clearly formatted.
- Ensure authentication and deliverability best practices are followed.
6. Campaign Management & Optimization
- Build and send newsletters and campaigns using best practices for segmentation and timing.
- Clean and maintain lists, manage engagement-based segments, and improve deliverability.
- Run A/B tests on subject lines, send times, content, and offers to increase opens, clicks, and conversions.
7. Analytics & Reporting
- Use Brevo’s analytics to track key lifecycle metrics (opens, clicks, conversions, revenue, churn indicators).
- Provide clear, regular reporting on performance by flow and campaign.
- Recommend and implement ongoing improvements based on data.
8. Multi-Channel Readiness (Nice to Have)
- Prepare data and segments that could be used for future SMS, WhatsApp, or push notifications within Brevo’s multi-channel ecosystem.
Qualifications
Must-Have Experience
- Brevo (Sendinblue) Expertise
- Hands-on experience building advanced automation workflows, transactional emails, and integrating Brevo via API/SDK.
- Comfortable configuring complex, multi-branch workflows and using Brevo’s developer tools.
- Email & Lifecycle Marketing
- Proven track record designing and managing lifecycle programs for SaaS, web apps, or e-commerce (including Shopify).
- Strong understanding of customer journeys: onboarding, activation, retention, win-back, and reactivation.
- Experience with transactional flows such as order confirmations, cart recovery, subscription renewals, and affiliate communications.
- ESP Migration Experience
- Demonstrated experience migrating from one email platform to another (e.g., Yotpo, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, etc.).
- Familiarity with mapping data, exporting/importing lists, and rebuilding flows while protecting deliverability and compliance.
- Technical Integration Skills
- Comfortable working with APIs, JSON, webhooks, and basic scripting or development concepts.
- Experience integrating email platforms with Shopify and with web/mobile apps.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
- Analytical & Strategic Mindset
- Skilled at segmentation, testing, and data-driven optimization.
- Able to interpret metrics and translate them into specific improvements.
- Communication & Collaboration
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Able to work closely with marketers, developers, and client stakeholders in a remote environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with SMS, WhatsApp, or push notification campaigns.
- Prior work with affiliate or multi-sided marketplace models.
- Familiarity with North American e-commerce and subscription products.
