Freelance Data Scientist | Banking (FinCrime) | €450–€550pd | Remote (EU-based)

Contract Length: 1+ year project

Day Rate: €450–€550pd

Language: B2/C1 English required

We are looking for experienced Freelance Data Scientists to join a large-scale anti-financial crime (FinCrime) transformation programme for a major German banking group.

This long-term project focuses on transaction monitoring across 30 international subsidiaries. You will be part of a specialist team responsible for assessing source data and building statistical models to support customer segmentation and the configuration of detection scenarios in a new anti-money laundering (AML) system.

Key Requirements:

• Master’s degree (or higher) in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
• 7+ years experience developing machine learning or AI models
• Strong understanding of classification and clustering algorithms
• Previous experience working with or analysing financial transactions
• In-depth knowledge of Apache Spark, including its internal workings
• Proficient in SQL, Python and Git
• Experience with GCP and BigQuery is a bonus
• Background in banking or anti-financial crime is highly desirable
