Software Engineer

StorMagic is looking for a self-motivated, driven Software Engineer, to join our current software engineering team to support further development and maintenance of StorMagic's products.

Key responsibilities involve execution of the full software development lifecycle and integrating software components into a fully functional system. This role will involve collaboration with our QA, DevOps, Technical Services, and Product teams to ensure our products are fit for the requirements of our end users.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of software methodologies, tools, and processes. Experience in Go programming as well as basic knowledge of Linux will be key for this role.

This role is fully remote.

The responsibilities of this role will include:

• Developing high-quality software code for deployment in existing and new Company products
• Identifying, prioritizing, and executing tasks in the software development life cycle
• Provide input and feedback towards designs, architecture, and code implementation
• Contributing to the ongoing evolution of existing applications and systems
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including QA, DevOps, Technical Services, and Product
• Complete code to deadlines outlined by management and product teams and evidence code quality where required
• Work alongside the QA and DevOps teams with testing and debugging of software
• Investigating and staying up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends

Skills & Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 3 years work experience in Software Development
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
• Strong knowledge of software methodologies, tools, and processes including Jira ticket management system
• Experience in Go Programming Language (RESTful APIs, Database management, Concurrency, Distributed systems fundamentals)
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• A basic knowledge of Linux services and utilities
• Knowledge of Virtualization fundamentals, Containers (Docker), and Networking Protocols
• Demonstrates strong communication, teamwork, and analytical skills
• Has strong attention to detail
• Great problem solving abilities
