We are seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven Senior Data Scientist with deep expertise in AI/ML engineering, specifically within the grid optimization and energy systems domain. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and deploying intelligent systems that optimize the performance, reliability, and sustainability of modern power grids. You’ll collaborate with product, engineering, and energy domain experts to deliver data-driven innovations that solve critical challenges in the evolving energy landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement machine learning models for forecasting, optimization, and anomaly detection in grid operations and distributed energy resource (DER) management.
• Develop scalable pipelines for processing time-series, geospatial, and IoT sensor data from grid assets and energy systems.
• Partner with energy engineers and product teams to translate domain-specific challenges into AI/ML solutions.
• Lead experimentation efforts to validate model performance and system impact in production environments.
• Work on hybrid AI-physics models that blend machine learning with grid simulation and modeling techniques.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in data science or machine learning roles, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in energy, utilities, or industrial systems.
• Expertise in Python and ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or XGBoost.
• Hands-on experience with time-series modeling, forecasting, and optimization algorithms.
• Strong foundation in statistics, signal processing, and applied mathematics.
• Familiarity with power systems data, SCADA, AMI, DER, and other grid-related datasets.
