Staff Trading Systems Engineer

Job Title: Staff Trading Systems Engineer

Location: United State (Remote)

Compensation: 200-250k & up to 80% bonus.

We are currently partnered with a publicy traded financial services firm that specializes in developing next generation crypto exchange products in search for a Staff Software Engineer to join the org.

Responsiblities:

• Design, build, and optimize high-throughput backend systems supporting 24/7 production workloads
• Write production-grade code across core pipelines such as transaction processing, funding, and settlement
• Own complex technical challenges including latency optimization, memory management, and distributed data consistency
• Define system design standards for microservices, event-driven architectures, and APIs
• Act as a force multiplier through high-quality code reviews, CI/CD best practices, and technical mentorship
• Build for resilience and observability using modern cloud-native tooling (e.g. Kafka, Kubernetes)
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to increase velocity and improve code quality

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong hands-on track record
• Expert proficiency in Scala, Java, or Go, including deep knowledge of concurrency and performance tuning
• Experience building and operating systems at extreme scale (100k+ TPS, low-latency environments)
• Strong background in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Experience delivering software in regulated industries such as FinTech, Crypto, or similar domains
• Practical experience using AI coding tools (e.g. Copilot, Cursor) in daily development

Nice to Have

• Exposure to blockchain, custody, or wallet infrastructure
• Experience with trading, risk, or matching engine systems
• Contributions to open-source or core infrastructure projects
