About us 🚀
We’re a fast-growing Series B payments startup building the next-generation platform that powers seamless payments and settlements for digital-first businesses. We're solving hard problems in fraud detection, real-time settlement, and scale and we move fast. If you like shipping high-impact systems, thrive in ambiguity, and want to shape product + architecture at a critical growth stage, come join us.
What you’ll do ✅
- Design, build, and own core backend services in Python that handle high-throughput payment flows and settlement pipelines.
- Lead architecture and technical direction for critical systems (payments routing, reconciliation, risk/fraud signals, event-driven processing).
- Ship production-quality code and mentor other engineers; set standards for reliability, observability, and performance.
- Collaborate with product, compliance, and operations to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Drive initiatives across the stack: API design, data models, DB schema, distributed job processing, and monitoring/alerting.
- Evaluate trade-offs, run experiments, and iterate quickly while maintaining security and compliance best practices for payments.
What we’re looking for 🧩
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong Python expertise: writing production services, libraries, and tests.
- Fintech / payments experience is required: you’ve worked on payment rails, card processing, ACH, settlement/reconciliation, or financial risk systems.
- Proven experience building scalable, distributed systems (message queues, stream processing, worker fleets, caching, relational + analytical databases).
- Solid system design skills and experience owning end-to-end features in production.
- Familiarity with security, PCI considerations, and compliance constraints a plus.
- Startup experience is a plus - comfortable shipping with small teams, ambiguous scope, and high ownership.
- Effective communicator and mentor; able to influence across teams.
Nice-to-haves 🤝
- Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pulsar), Celery/RQ, or similar.
- Background in risk/fraud models, real-time scoring, or payments reconciliation.
- AWS/GCP production experience (Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS, BigQuery, etc.).
- Interest or experience with ML pipelines or data engineering supporting payments analytics.
What we offer 🌟
- Competitive $250,000 base (market-competitive equity package & bonus potential).
- Fully remote, flexible hours, and a small, mission-driven team.
- Generous PTO, health/dental/vision benefits, and professional development allowance.
- The chance to influence product direction at a high-growth company - big impact, visible results.
