Senior Software Engineer

“We are searching for a developer to join our data standards team. You will enable some of the biggeste companies in the world to exchange product data enabling them to get products to market faster, find products that match their specifications faster, and in generel help them work efficient and with confidense. The responsibilities of the new developer will be from specification to production in collaboration with their team and stakeholders.” says Michael Ebbesen, Senior Director, R&D.

The role

As a developer you will ensure that our software meets customer expectations working in small, cross-functional teams collaborating closely with business stakeholders, product managers, architects, developers & QA engineers across the global R&D sections, refine, implement, and test as part of a team ensuring great solutions end up in the hands of our users.

Moreover, you will:

• Resolve complex technical tasks by writing secure, reliable, scalable, and maintainable code.

• Work on a large product spanning from a fine-tuned, high-performing database layer and a multitude of integrations to a clean-cut UI, all in collaboration with highly skilled colleagues (140+ in Engineering), stakeholders, UX, tech writers, product managers, and your team’s product owner.

• See your work in the hands of large, well-known brands across the globe, with customers on all continents.

This is your Team

You will become part of a team consisting of a product owner, a software architect, 3 developers, 2 QAs and associated UX specialist and tech writer. Our process follows the agile mindset based on Scrum extended with SAFe for being able to coordinate and scale activities across the entire Engineering department. In Engineering, typically 15 development teams are running in parallel in agile release trains.

The variety of use cases, the complexity and volume of data, and the challenge providing decent UX and workflows for the personas supposed to work with our products ensures that you will always have exciting and motivating tasks to deal with allowing you to constantly evolve both business and technology wise.” explains Michael Ebbesen.

Technologies

Our products all run in a Cloud enabled technology stack (Azure/AWS). We work with technologies like Java, React, Javascript, Typescript, GWT, GraphQL, CSS, Jest, Cypress and more. And you don’t need to be an expert in all, just have the right mindset that learning is a constant factor as a developer, then we will support you in your learning journey.

The ideal candidate has experience as a Backend Developers, but is also interested in what is going on in the Frontend.

Moreover, you:

• Have an educational background within data science, engineering, or similar.

• Have 5+ years of experience as a developer.

• Have experience with at least some of the technologies we use; Java is preferred.

• Have a positive and proactive mindset when it comes to challenges, paired with good problem-solving skills.

• Have solid experience as a developer or the drive to become awesome within a short timeframe.

• Have a natural drive to keep improving yourself, both in your collaboration with other people and in your development work.

• Speak and write English well.
