Description
The Director, Marketing is responsible for establishing and implementing strategic and tactical marketing strategies designed to capitalize on market opportunities and generate demand. The Director, Marketing will utilize marketing partners to develop STG’s brand awareness and reputation, provide a steady flow of sales leads, and measures the return on marketing program investments. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, resourceful, and a strong communicator.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance commercial plan with assistance of stakeholders.
- Enhance the strategic marketing plan in the following functional areas: creative, paid advertising (Google and social media), email campaigns, public relations, and SEO.
- Evaluate new media technologies to support marketing functions.
- Develop KPI’s and reporting tools to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
- Performance market segmentation, target, and positioning for each product.
- Conduct research and evaluation of marketing partners and manage relationships.
- Work directly with sales to support the growth strategy.
- Identify areas for process improvement.
- Maintain knowledge of marketing trends, developments, and best practices.
- Enhance lead generation process, funnel management aligned to new logo customer strategy.
- Contribute to content creation and writing, email campaign generation and sales materials.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance performance and expand market reach.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to improve marketing strategies.
- Conduct monthly marketing meetings with each service leader for marketing support.
- Prepare monthly reporting analyzing all marketing segments, highlighting key performance metrics and actionable insights.
- Conduct quarterly reviews with senior leadership to align strategy for the following quarter, presenting achievements and recommendations for improvement.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks to work across many accounts and prioritize effectively.
- Execute the social media strategy across key social media platforms, and in coordination with partners.
- Define a quarterly, monthly, weekly post plan for review and sign-off – collaborating with creative and growth agencies for content development and tracking.
Ensure timely management of comments and engagement (responses) across platforms.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field, or relevant combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in a marketing management position.
- Exceptional knowledge of marketing strategies, concepts, and practices.
- Ability to develop strong relationships and work with senior level executives.
- Solid business acumen, management, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management, organization, and leadership skills.
- Understanding of domestic transportation including drayage, intermodal, and over-the-road.
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office, HubSpot, ZoomInfo and Salesforce.
- Proven experience in identifying target audiences and creatively devising and leading across-channels marketing campaigns that engage, educate, and motivate.
- Experience in setting up and optimizing marketing campaigns.
- Numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics, and processing figures with spreadsheets.
- A sense of aesthetics, strong copy writing and communication.
- Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement.
