Position Summary:
As a Backend Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining backend services that support mission-critical functionality in the Stream product. You will play a key role in updating legacy systems, implementing new business logic, and ensuring the performance, scalability, and maintainability of backend services.
You'll collaborate with agile teams, product managers, QA engineers, and front-end developers to deliver high-quality software that aligns with business goals and user needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain scalable backend services using C# .NET, including both .NET 8.0 and .NET Framework v4.7+.
- Design and implement complex queries, stored procedures, and database structures using Microsoft SQL Server.
- Contribute to the refactoring of legacy code to support new functionality and improved user workflows.
- Implement unit tests using XUnit or equivalent frameworks to ensure code quality and system reliability.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture planning.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members in an agile development environment (Scrum/Kanban).
- Maintain and improve CI/CD practices and automation pipelines in support of development efforts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve defects, performance bottlenecks, and system issues.
Required Qualifications:
- 6-9 years of hands-on experience in backend software development.
- Strong expertise in C# .NET, with proficiency in both .NET 8.0 and legacy .NET Framework 4.7+.
- Solid experience with Microsoft SQL Server and database development (stored procedures, indexing, optimization).
- Hands-on experience with unit testing frameworks, preferably XUnit.
- Deep understanding of object-oriented programming and design principles.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git and working in CI/CD environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative team mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with monolithic applications and transitioning to modern architectures.
- Exposure to Azure or other cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
- Experience integrating with front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular) is a plus.
