About the Role
We are building a next-generation streaming and monetization platform that powers live and on-demand video across connected TV, mobile, and web applications. This role is for an engineer who thrives in a fast-moving environment, owns problems end to end, and can architect systems that scale to millions of viewers while supporting complex ad-tech and video workflows.
You will design and deliver the core infrastructure behind our video pipeline, advertising systems, playback experiences, developer tools, and distributed backend services. The ideal candidate has deep technical mastery, a builder’s mindset, and a strong sense of ownership over product impact.
Core Technical Mastery
- Able to design systems from scratch, including rapid prototyping and POC engineering.
- Strong command of system architecture patterns and distributed system design.
- Expert in debugging difficult production issues such as race conditions, memory leaks, threading, async/event loop behavior, and network-level problems.
- Advanced fluency in video encoding and streaming technologies: ffmpeg, AVC, HEVC, AAC, HLS/DASH, fMP4/CMAF, closed captions.
- Deep understanding of ad markers and streaming metadata: SCTE-35, ID3, DATERANGE.
- Adept at diagnosing complex video pipeline issues across encoding, packaging, segmenting, and playback.
- Advanced knowledge of CDN behavior, caching, edge delivery, and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of programmatic advertising systems including VAST, bidders, OpenRTB 2.6, and HTTP-based ad workflows.
- Skilled in parsing and manipulating data across transformations, joins, correlations, aggregations, validation, and cleaning.
- Experience with AI/ML development patterns such as LLM integration, LoRA, RAG, and vector retrieval.
- Familiarity with applied cryptography patterns.
- Expert-level code review capabilities with a focus on correctness, clarity, and performance.
