We’re now looking for a part-time Industrial Designer (contractor, ~40%) to join us. In this role, you’ll help shape the visual language and design identity of current and future products. You’ll collaborate with engineering, marketing, and product teams to develop manufacturable designs that are intuitive, functional, and visually striking.
This is a flexible role, well-suited for someone open to working on a freelance contract basis.
What you'll do:
- Lead the industrial design of physical fitness products from concept to production.
- Design for form, ergonomics, materials, and finishes, with clear intent and user focus.
- Translate user insights and brand strategy into compelling product designs.
- Work closely with mechanical engineers and prototyping teams to ensure feasibility and DFM.
- Produce high-quality 2D sketches, 3D CAD models (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360), and renderings (e.g., KeyShot, V-Ray).
- Iterate designs based on user testing, feedback, and engineering constraints.
- Help define our visual brand language and evolve it with each new product.
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners to bring designs to life with high fidelity.
What we're looking for:
- Willing to work on a freelance contract
- 5+ years of experience in industrial design for consumer products, preferably in fitness, sporting goods, wearables, or similar categories.
- Portfolio showcasing production-ready designs, especially those with complex mechanical systems and premium CMF (Color, Material, Finish) application.
- Strong proficiency in CAD, rendering, and physical prototyping.
- Deep understanding of human-centered design and ergonomic principles.
- Experience designing for injection molding, metalwork, soft goods, and hybrid materials.
- Ability to lead design sprints and present ideas clearly to stakeholders.
- Familiarity with performance-driven product aesthetics and fitness lifestyle branding.
- This is a flexible role, ideally suited for someone willing to work on a freelance contract basis.
