Our Solutions team is seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner (Core HR Systems) to lead the greenfield implementation of Core HR systems (excluding payroll and timekeeping) for a new business area within our client's global Media & Entertainment environment. As a Technical Product Owner you will focus on building and optimizing our client's Core HR capabilities and solutions built around SAP HCM and SAP SuccessFactors EC (Employee Central) and other 3rd party solutions. On this project you'll be working closely with HR stakeholders, engineering teams, and system integrators to deliver scalable, secure, and user-centric solutions. This is a unique opportunity to shape the HR technology landscape from the ground up, define effective workflows and drive the delivery of internal-facing HR products that support organizational growth and agility. The role will include working with Core HR systems that include functional areas that involve Benefits, Onboarding, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Employee Portals, Compensation, and related areas. The technical areas of this project will include writing technical user stories and specifications for internal engineering teams and 3rd party vendors to action new build items and enhancements. You'll play a key role in liaising between business stakeholders and technical engineering teams. The engineering workflows will be driven off an Agile Sprint methodology using Jira. We're looking for someone that fundamentally understands Core HR, and knows how to talk to developers and engineers.

We have a direct connection with our stakeholder and are setting up interviews immediately. This project will be worked mostly remote, however once a month (or quarterly) the consultant must be able to work onsite one of the key office locations in: New York Tri-State area (NY NJ CT), Orlando, or Los Angeles. Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute a product roadmap for Core HR systems built around SAP HCM and SuccessFactors EC (Employee Central).
  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle with discovery, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-launch optimization.
  • Translate HR business needs into detailed product requirements, user stories, and technical specifications.
  • Build workflows for a new environment that includes Core HR processes with benefits, onboarding, compensation, talent & acquisition, talent development, organizational management, and related systems.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog; manage sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release cycles in an Agile environment.
  • Collaborate with SAP functional and technical teams to configure related permissions, workflows, data objects, and key system integrations.
  • Design and implement organizational structures, position management, and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Oversee data modeling and migration from legacy systems, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and security.
  • Partner with integration teams to connect SAP systems with identity management, benefits platforms, and other enterprise tools using SAP CPI.
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment, manage competing priorities, and ensure timely delivery of high-impact features.
  • Monitor system performance and user feedback to drive continuous improvement and adoption.
  • Stay current with SAP roadmap, HR tech trends, and best practices to inform product decisions.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in HRIS or enterprise systems.
  • Ability to write technical user stories for engineering teams
  • Ability to configure HR Systems and understand technical concepts including APIs and 3rd party integrations
  • Strong hands-on expertise with SAP HCM and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central.
  • Proven track record in greenfield implementations or large-scale HR system deployments.
  • In-depth understanding of Core HR processes, including Benefits, Onboarding, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Employee Portals, Compensation, organizational management and other areas.
  • Proficiency with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and compliant technical solutions.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • (Preferred) Experience in the media & entertainment industry, especially with internal-facing HR products.
  • (Preferred) Additional experience in change management or HR transformation initiatives.
  • (Preferred) Experience with API integrations and identity management systems.

Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $105,000 - 125,000 / per year, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
