Job Title: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Location: 100% Remote

Contract Duration: 6+Months Contract

Pay Rate (W2): $53/hr on W2

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This is a 100% remote opportunity through September 30, 2025, ideal for a skilled professional passionate about quality engineering and automation. As an SDET, you will design, develop, and maintain automated end-to-end (E2E) tests for complex, cloud-based applications. Your role will help ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions by integrating testing directly into the development lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Automated Testing & Frameworks

• Develop and maintain E2E automated test scripts for web-based and cloud-native applications
• Build and integrate automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, JUnit, Playwright, etc.
• Collaborate with developers to implement test automation as part of CI/CD pipelines
• Write automation code in Java, JavaScript, or C# (matching the dev stack)
• Create and implement test strategies, branching strategies, and automation policies
• Perform API testing using tools like Postman or REST Assured
• Build automation dashboards and provide metrics to Agile teams
• Contribute to performance, load, and scalability testing

Quality Assurance & Best Practices

• Author and maintain test plans, strategies, and documentation
• Ensure testing traceability from requirements to execution
• Conduct manual and exploratory testing where needed
• Drive QA best practices and mentor junior QA engineers

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work cross-functionally with development and DevOps teams
• Participate in code reviews to ensure adequate test coverage
• Contribute to continuous testing and CI/CD best practices
• Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and propose solutions

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as an SDET or in a similar automated testing role
• Proven experience in creating and maintaining automated test frameworks
• Strong knowledge of Selenium, JUnit, Playwright (or similar tools)
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, etc.)
• Experience working in CI/CD environments and cloud-based applications (SaaS)
• Proficient in programming languages like Java, JavaScript, or C#
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent work experience

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with performance/load testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner
• Exposure to building pipelines-as-code for automated testing in CI/CD
