Contract Product Designer, Payments Systems
W2 ONLY – REMOTE ( Must work PST hours)
About You
- You’re a systems thinker who can zoom out to see patterns and zoom in to define the details
- You know how to build flexible, scalable UI libraries—and have the judgment to know when to codify vs. leave room for iteration
- You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, building structure, and collaborating across multiple domains
- You have a keen eye for interaction and design quality, especially in high-stakes flows like billing, invoicing, and payments
Responsibilities
- Develop components and UX patterns based on payment archetypes (e.g. credit cards, bank transfers, mobile wallets)
- Support the design systemization of pricing displays, invoice templates, billing flows, and retries
- Help document a unified UX framework for how Payments should scale across new business lines
- Build toward a Stripe.com-style documentation space with detailed examples and guidance for internal teams
- Work closely with the FTE design team to offload foundational work so they can focus on higher-level strategy
Requirements
- 10+ years of product design experience, with strong systems design experience
- Proven ability to build and maintain design libraries or frameworks
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams to bring scalable systems to life
- Strong documentation and communication skills—you know how to codify and communicate design decisions clearly
- Ability to work autonomously in fast-paced environments
Nice to Have
- Experience working in payments, fintech, or system-heavy product environments
- Familiarity with localization, global UX, and scaling experiences across markets
- Prior experience contributing to or leading the development of design systems or documentation hubs
