Role Overview:

We are seeking a Software Engineer (.NET API) for a remote 1099 contract role starting at $60/hour. In this hands-on engineering position, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to build and maintain high-quality .NET Core APIs. You’ll be responsible for designing software solutions, writing automated tests, integrating CI/CD pipelines, and deploying cloud-based applications. You’ll also contribute to team development through code reviews and mentorship.

Note: U.S. Citizenship is required for this role. Extensive background verification will be conducted.Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using .NET Core
• Write automated unit and integration tests using xUnit
• Collaborate with product managers and fellow engineers to deliver high-impact features
• Conduct thorough code reviews and share technical guidance with team members
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure Pipelines
• Handle release management using Octopus Deploy
• Deploy and manage applications in Azure App Services
• Monitor and optimize application performance and scalability in the cloud
• Follow engineering best practices and ensure code quality and maintainability

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen (required)
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
• Proven experience with .NET Core and ASP.NET MVC
• Solid background in RESTful API development
• Proficient in writing automated tests with xUnit
• Experience using Azure Pipelines and Octopus Deploy
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing apps in Azure App Services
• Strong skills in SQL and relational database design
• Experience using Git or similar version control tools
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; certifications a plus
• Willingness to undergo and pass an extensive background check

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban)

• Familiarity with Azure Functions, Azure Storage, or other Azure services

• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes

• Familiarity with monitoring tools and production debugging best practices
