Fullstack Software Engineer

What you'll be getting up to:

• Working across a number of business areas providing development, maintenance and support;
• Work on projects that directly impact key business metrics; Improve web application performance;
• Recommend ways to improve the building, testing, and deployment processes for the front-end as well as back-end stack;
• Create interaction models, user task flows, screen designs, and UI details that promote ease of use and optimise task flows;
• Participate in standups and grooming sessions with your colleague engineers and product team;
• Translate impulses, ideas, concepts into feasible but innovative output;
• Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers;
• Help identify probable causes and provide immediate solution during an incident;
• Work within an agile environment following an agile framework;
• Contribute significant ideas for making the applications better and easier to use;
• Contribute to engineering efforts from planning and organisation to execution and delivery to solve complex, real-world engineering problems.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related technical field, or equivalent work experience;
• At least 3 - 5 years of experience in Full Stack (or at least Backend) development using modern Backend frameworks (Symfony/Laravel/CodeIgniter) and Frontend frameworks (Angular, Vue, React)
• A working understanding of software engineering principles;
• Strong grasp of established and emerging technologies, systems, platforms, and software;
• Willingness to explore and learn new technologies that are unfamiliar;
• Ability to work within a team in a fast pace delivery-oriented environment;
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g., responsiveness) with a keen eye for pixel-level detail in UI;
• Demonstrable UI/UX decision skills for browser-based UI and knowledge of UI/UX design principles and industry standards;
• Proven track record of successfully delivering high-quality enterprise solutions over multiple product lifecycles;
• Proven track record in building high performance, highly available and scalable systems;
• Portfolio documenting recently achieved projects;
• Ability to organise and manage multiple priorities;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Team player who is eager to help others to succeed;
• Self-starter, and self-motivated and able to learn independently;
• Good oral and written English communication skills;

Skills and Experience:

• Experience with PHP and Angular;
• Experience with databases such as MySQL, Firebase or similar;
• Experience with Git (Gitlab) and version control workflows;
• Strong HTML & CSS skills, with bonus points for experience with animation, knowledge of approaches to scalable/modular CSS, & preprocessors such as SCSS & LESS;
• Understanding of data structures, data modelling and software architecture;
• Familiarity with client-side build processes & tools such as Grunt, Gulp, Webpack, Ember CLI etc;
• Experience in multi-threading, message queues, WebSocket;
• Experience with automation of the development and test processes through CI/CD pipeline (SonarQube, Artifactory, Docker containers);
• Intermediate knowledge of API development;
• Basic Linux Server knowledge: ability to locate files in the filesystem, stopping-starting-restarting service; reading log files, manipulating/moving files;
• Keen eye for spotting code defects, improvements and the ability to provide constructive feedback via Code Reviews;

Bonus points for:

• Expertise in performance analysis and optimization of front-end applications;
• Unit Testing knowledge via PHPUnit
• Experience in Automation Testing via Playwright framework
