Data Engineer - AI Fintech/Remote OK

About the Company
Our client builds reusable AI solutions and contribute to the broader financial AI ecosystem. Their AI organization consists of experienced professionals who have built AI organizations from scratch, developed large-scale production ML systems, and launched widely used products. They aim to become the "CoE of CoE" for Japan's financial industry's AI transformation.

You'll lead high-impact AI and machine learning projects for major financial institutions while helping establish a new AI team. Rather than only building models, you'll have the opportunity to influence business strategy, lead technical decisions, mentor other data scientists and engineers, and contribute to the development of reusable AI products.

Requirements

・Experience working on projects involving modern data analytics platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks
・Bachelor's degree from a four-year university or equivalent educational background in information technology
・Business-level English and Business-level Japanese proficiency
・Eligibility to work in Japan (holding a valid residence status that permits employment as an IT professional) and a residence status that will not expire within six months of joining the company

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with streaming or event-driven data ingestion architectures
• Knowledge of DataOps or DevOps practices, including CI/CD for data pipelines
• Experience collaborating with Power BI teams and supporting semantic data models
• Exposure to MLOps or data platforms supporting AI and machine learning workflows
• Experience integrating enterprise systems such as SAP APO, SAP ECC, or similar ERP platforms
