You’ll be joining a group of passionate, curious pioneers, exploring novel approaches and setting new industry standards for natural, custom, and intelligent conversations.

Our engineering mission is ambitious: design and optimize ultra-low-latency AI agents capable of real-time, natural conversations; build a highly flexible dialog platform that customers can customize and rely on 24/7; and push the boundaries of human-computer interaction by creating conversational experiences so seamless and lifelike that users can’t distinguish them from talking to a person.

In this role, you will:

• Drive innovation by experimenting with new methodologies and harnessing the power of LLMs to develop groundbreaking features for our AI assistants
• Lead ideas from concept to reality—crafting prototypes, engineering robust code, and ensuring impactful deployment
• Collaborate closely with visionary engineers, product managers, technical program managers, and other key stakeholders across North America and Europe
• Tackle real business and user challenges from various industries—then architect scalable, generalized solutions that will shape the foundation of our AI systems

We would love to hear from you if:

• You have at least 8 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or relevant field, or at least 6 years of professional experience with a Master’s degree.
• You have deep expertise in AI/ML or a closely related discipline, with a proven record of delivering impactful solutions.
• You bring hands-on experience with a variety of agentic frameworks and techniques such as LangGraph, RAG, DSPy, and BAML in implementing AI-driven systems within diverse, global teams.

This position is available for remote work across most of the United States. Employees within a 60-mile radius of a SoundHound AI office are expected to work from the office on three pre-scheduled, company-wide “core days” per month to encourage cross-team connection and in-person collaboration.

The estimated salary for this position is $155,000 - $195,000 plus equity. In addition to salary and equity, you will receive comprehensive healthcare, paid time off, and other benefits.
