Lead Data Science Specialist for Industrial Operations

Our client, a major player in the industrial and manufacturing sector, is currently seeking a high level Lead Data Scientist to join their technology leadership team. Operating out of their Morris Plains office on a hybrid schedule, this individual will report directly to the Director of AI and Automation to spearhead advanced analytics across the global supply chain and finance departments.

The successful candidate will act as the primary link between technical execution and business strategy. You will be responsible for transforming complex datasets into actionable intelligence that improves demand forecasting, optimizes inventory, and refines financial modeling. This role is designed for a strategic innovator who can blend deep statistical knowledge with practical business applications to drive operational efficiency.

Core Responsibilities

Direct the creation and deployment of Generative AI and multi agent architectures specifically for manufacturing and supply chain use cases.

Oversee the full lifecycle of data projects from initial problem definition and data extraction to model validation and production deployment.

Develop sophisticated machine learning models for cash flow forecasting, anomaly detection in financial records, and supply chain network optimization.

Translate complex analytical results into clear business recommendations for senior stakeholders in logistics and finance.

Implement MLOps best practices to ensure all models remain scalable, accurate, and robust.

Maintain strict adherence to data governance, compliance, and safety standards across all initiatives.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement by mentoring junior talent and identifying new opportunities for automation and AI integration.

Professional Requirements

Advanced expertise in machine learning and statistical modeling applied to industrial domains.

Proven experience working with large scale ERP data and financial ledgers.

Strong background in demand planning, working capital optimization, and cost variance analysis.

Ability to design and implement Agentic AI patterns and predictive forecasting tools.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence non technical business leaders.

Demonstrated ownership of end to end projects in a fast paced corporate environment.

History of driving measurable improvements in forecast accuracy and operational cost reduction.
