Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Scientist to support forecasting and demand planning initiatives, including workload and service volume forecasting. This role focuses on developing and refining statistical and predictive models to improve forecast accuracy, workforce optimization, and operational planning.
The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex datasets into actionable insights that drive business performance and improve customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends and improve forecasting accuracy.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance statistical and predictive models for demand and capacity forecasting.
- Apply time-series analysis, predictive techniques, and scenario modeling to anticipate future demand.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, analytics, and workforce management to identify improvement opportunities.
- Create clear data visualizations and reports to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Present insights, recommendations, and forecasting outcomes to internal stakeholders and occasionally external partners.
- Support workforce planning initiatives and staffing optimization efforts.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelorโs degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience applying advanced analytics to solve business challenges.
Core Skills & Expertise
- Strong experience in forecasting, statistical modeling, and time-series analysis.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with R for data analysis and modeling.
- Advanced SQL skills with experience managing and analyzing large-scale datasets.
- Hands-on experience with data modeling, statistical techniques, and applied mathematics.
- Experience using cloud-based data platforms (e.g., modern data warehousing or analytics environments).
- Ability to analyze data trends, troubleshoot analytical challenges, and derive actionable insights.
- Experience creating data visualizations and communicating insights effectively.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in operational analytics, workforce planning, or service-based forecasting environments.
- Background in healthcare, life sciences, or related regulated industries.
- Exposure to advanced analytics techniques such as machine learning, regression modeling, or segmentation.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, automation, version control, or deployment processes for analytical models.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
