Location: Remote (Preferred locations - LATAM, SA & PH)

Compensation

• South Africa: $2,500 - $4,000/month USD
• Philippines: $1,800 - $3,000/month USD
• LATAM $2,500 - $4,100/month

About The Role

We’re looking for a talented and mission-driven Software Engineer to join a growing remote team that builds scalable tools and solutions to support a high-performing research operation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and is passionate about writing clean, efficient, and scalable code.

You’ll work closely with product and operations teams to design and develop tools that streamline workflows, enhance user experience, and contribute to a world-class research service.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build, test, and deploy new features and enhancements
• Design scalable APIs and backend services to support product growth
• Improve system reliability, performance, and maintainability
• Debug and troubleshoot technical issues across the stack
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices and team standards
• Continuously learn and apply new technologies to optimize and future-proof the platform

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience as a full-stack or backend software engineer
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Node.js, or Ruby
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, Postgres(or similar), and Node.js
• Experience working with modern frameworks and APIs (e.g. React, Django, Express)
• Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native practices
• A problem-solver mindset with attention to detail and code quality
• Excellent communication skills and a strong sense of accountability
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote, globally distributed team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a research, SaaS, or content-driven environment
• Exposure to asynchronous task processing (e.g., Celery, Sidekiq)
• Familiarity with AI or data processing technologies

NOTE

For more senior or specialized candidates (AI, DevOps-heavy, or architectural work), we could look to add $500-$1,000/month to the top end.
