What We Need
Client is a health and wellness education company looking for a contract marketing designer and web specialist to handle day-to-day design execution across email, web, paid ads, and content. You'll work directly with the head of marketing and be the primary person building and shipping creative across our channels.
This is a hands-on, high-output role. You're designing emails, updating web pages, posting content, building ad creative, and contributing UX thinking to how we present our product. We need someone who can move fast, take direction well, and also flag when something could be better from a design or user experience perspective.
Startup or small team experience is strongly preferred. If you've worked in an environment where you were the only designer and had to figure things out across multiple platforms, you'll do well here.
What You'll Do
Email Design
- Design and build marketing emails and lifecycle flows in Klaviyo or similar ESPs
- Create templates, modules, and one-off campaign emails based on briefs and promo calendars
- QA everything before it goes live. Links, formatting, mobile rendering, audience
Website / HubSpot CMS
- Update and maintain website pages in HubSpot CMS
- Post and format blog content
- Make landing page updates for promos, campaigns, and product launches
- Contribute UX recommendations. If something on the site doesn't make sense from a user flow perspective, we want you to flag it and propose solutions
Paid Ad Creative
- Design static and motion ad creative for Meta and Google campaigns as needed
- Build variations for A/B testing across copy, visuals, and formats
- Work from briefs but also bring your own eye for what performs in paid channels
Copy Support
- Write and edit short-form marketing copy for emails, ads, web pages, and CTAs
- Adapt messaging across channels while keeping tone and brand consistent
- You don't need to be a full-time copywriter, but you should be comfortable writing clear, conversion-oriented copy
Social Content Editing
- Clip and repurpose existing video and webinar content into social-ready formats (reels, short clips, carousels, stories)
- Add captions, text overlays, and basic motion graphics
- This is CapCut-level editing, not heavy production. You're turning long-form content into short-form assets that perform on social
Ad Hoc Design Work
- Presentation decks, one-pagers, event materials, whatever the business needs
- Be flexible and responsive to shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment
Experience
Who You Are
- 4+ years in marketing design with experience across email, web, and paid ad creative
- Hands-on experience with HubSpot CMS or a similar CMS (WordPress, Webflow, etc.)
- Comfortable building emails in Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or similar ESPs
- Strong portfolio showing range across digital channels, not just one specialty
- Experience working in a startup, small team, or agency environment where you wore multiple hats
Skills
- Proficient in Figma and/or Adobe Creative Suite
- Can write clean, effective short-form copy
- Strong eye for UX. You think about how users move through a page, not just how it looks
- Detail-oriented. Nothing ships without proper QA
- You manage your own time well and don't need to be chased for updates
Mindset
- You're a builder, not a pixel-pusher. You care about whether the work converts, not just whether it looks nice
- You take direction well but also push back when something could be better
- You're comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities
- You communicate proactively. If something is blocked, late, or unclear, you say so before it becomes a problem
Tools We Use
- Klaviyo (email/SMS)
- HubSpot CMS (website/blog)
- Figma
- Meta Ads / Google Ads
- CapCut or similar for short-form video editing
- Jira (task management)
- Slack (communication)
Why This
You'll work directly with a marketing leader who's hands-on and collaborative. The team is small, the work is varied, and you'll have a real impact on how the brand shows up across every channel. If you're a versatile designer who wants ownership and variety over corporate process, let's talk.
