Marketing and Communications Specialist - Remote
About The Role
A venture capital firm is seeking a Marketing & Communications Specialist to lead external storytelling, investor updates, social media, and communications infrastructure.
This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in venture capital, private equity, or startups—someone who is a strong communicator, digitally savvy, and thrives in fast-moving, high-expectation environments.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Brand Voice
- Manage and grow the firm’s social media presence, primarily on LinkedIn and Twitter/X
- Write and publish updates about portfolio companies, fund activity, and industry commentary
- Maintain a consistent voice, tone, and quality across all public-facing content
- Track engagement and trends to inform ongoing content strategy
Investor Communications
- Draft and distribute quarterly updates, announcements, and LP communications
- Assist with the creation of investor reports, including content, layout, and data integration
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure consistent messaging
- Maintain an organized and accurate investor data room
Marketing Collateral & Internal Content
- Support the creation of pitch decks, presentations, and one-pagers
- Maintain branding guidelines and templates
- Assist with PR coordination and materials for events or portfolio support
General Support
- Provide occasional administrative and ad hoc support
- Jump into high-priority projects requiring marketing or communications expertise
About You
- 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or operations
- Experience in venture capital, private equity, or startups strongly preferred
- Excellent writing and editing skills—able to write clearly for business and investor audiences
- Proven ability to manage professional social media (LinkedIn, Twitter/X)
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
- Comfortable using tools like Airtable, Notion, Canva, QuickBooks, G Suite, and Asana or Trello
- Proactive, self-motivated, and confident working in a lean, high-trust environment
- Solid understanding (or quick learner) of venture capital operations and terminology
Nice-to-Have
- Portfolio of writing samples or content (e.g., newsletters, social media posts, pitch decks)
- Experience with Canva, Figma, or Google Slides for light design/layout
- Interest in emerging tech, innovation, and startups
