At Namely, we’re on a mission to make life easier for HR teams and employees everywhere. Our platform powers payroll, benefits, and HRIS for growing companies—and we’re just getting started. We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us take our platform to the next level.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing and building major features and services that power our platform. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to bring ideas to life and make a real impact.

Here’s a taste of what you’ll be working on:

• Building and deploying containerized gRPC and RESTful services on Kubernetes (AWS)
• Designing APIs that power new product features and improve existing ones
• Helping us break apart our monolith and move to a modern microservices architecture
• Contributing to shared libraries and tools used across our engineering teams
• Mentoring junior engineers and helping them grow
• Supporting production systems and improving observability, alerting, and performance

Our Tech Stack

We use a mix of modern tools and languages, including:

• Backend: C#, Go, Ruby, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Spinnaker
• Frontend: React, Single Page Applications (SPAs)
• Architecture: API-first, GraphQL, gRPC

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who’s excited to build great software and help shape the future of our platform. Ideally, you have:

• 5+ years of experience writing production software (C# and Ruby are a big plus)
• Experience designing and building APIs
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modeling
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React or Angular)
• A passion for writing clean, maintainable code and solid unit tests
• A collaborative mindset and experience working cross-functionally
