Software Engineer – Developer Infrastructure / Monorepo Migration

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer to help shape the next generation of developer infrastructure. Your mission will be to boost internal developer productivity through modern tools, a unified codebase, and advanced automation.

You’ll join a team responsible for internal development infrastructure, CI/CD systems, and version control, working on one of the company’s most critical transformations — migrating backend services to a common monorepo powered by Bazel.

With 40% of the migration already completed, your contribution will be key to achieving 70–80% in the coming months.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the ongoing migration to a monorepo environment.
• Develop and maintain Bazel build configurations and abstractions for enhanced developer experience.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and platform teams to define and evolve a best-in-class monorepo platform.
• Improve internal build systems, automation, and developer workflows for scalability and efficiency.

Required Skills

• Deep experience with Bazel and large-scale monorepo environments.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, build systems, and developer productivity tooling.
• Hands-on experience with backend development in Java, Python, TypeScript, or Starlark.
• Familiarity with the Bazel ecosystem (e.g., rules_jvm_external, IntelliJ Bazel plugin).

Nice to Have

• Experience from large-scale tech environments (e.g., Google, Uber, Twitter, Stripe).
• Background in distributed coding environments with complex inter-team dependencies.
• Passion for optimizing developer experience and creating scalable, high-quality engineering workflows.
