Senior Software Engineer - Platform Engineering
About the role
As a Senior Software Engineer on the platform engineering team, you will be a key member of
the team developing, maintaining, and designing best practices for internally-used platforms and
services such as Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow and Data Build Tool (dbt). This
includes integrations with vendor services such as our Protected Health Information (PHI)
tooling, patient token generation software, and test case integrations. You will manage these
systems to define data pipeline best practices.
You are a smart, creative, and curious thinker who has excellent engineering skills, including
design and coding, and you raise the standard of the engineers throughout the organization.
You have experience in building platforms for data pipelines across data volumes, and
designing configuration layers on those pipelines for non-technical users.

What You’ll Do
● Lead designs for data pipelines
● Manage systems used to execute data pipelines
● Evaluate different tools and technologies
● Mentor other engineers
● Collaborate on the direction of the data pipelines
● Share your experience and engineering skills with the rest of the team
What Experience You’ll Bring
● Comfort with relational databases and SQL queries
● Experience with directed acyclic graph definition and management for data pipelines (e.g.
Airflow)
● Experience with cluster computing technologies (e.g. Databricks)
● Experience with data lakes (e.g. Snowflake)
● Experience with ETL or ELT tools (e.g. DBT)
What’s Nice to Have
● Experience with Amazon Web Services roles and policy management
● Experience with big data
● Experience in the healthcare industry, particularly US FDA Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
laws and regulations
