About Solo Media Group
Solo Media Group is a Shopify Platinum-focused agency that designs, builds, and grows ecommerce stores for DTC brands. We've been at it for over 8 years — long enough to have shipped sites for some of your favorite brands across fashion, jewelry, beauty, health and wellness, supplements, home, and lifestyle.
About the Role
We're hiring a Marketing Project Manager to run the day-to-day of marketing at Solo Media Group and work side-by-side with the founder. This is a project manager + executive assistant hybrid — the person who makes sure the marketing engine actually turns: case studies get updated, pages get refreshed and launched, the content calendar moves, the media buyer is briefed, the SEO team is on track, the video editors have what they need, and the founder's personal brand keeps shipping.
You won't be writing the marketing strategy. You'll be the reason it gets executed. If a deadline slips, you saw it coming. If a deliverable is late, you already chased it. If something needs a designer, a writer, or a vendor, you've already lined them up.
This is a high-trust seat. You'll be inside almost everything we do externally.
What You'll Do
- Run the day-to-day — own the marketing workstream end to end. Know what's shipping this week, what's blocked, and what's next.
- Keep the content calendar — own the editorial calendar across blog, social, email, video, and case studies. Make sure dates hold.
- Update and ship case studies — coordinate the writeups, get screenshots and assets from designers, push them live on the site, and keep them current as projects evolve.
- Update designs on marketing pages — work with designers to refresh the SMG site, landing pages, and campaign pages. Brief the designer, review the work, ship the update.
- Launch pages — push completed pages live, QA them across devices, and make sure they're tracked properly.
- Get a media buyer — source, vet, and onboard a paid media partner. Brief them, hold them accountable, review performance with the founder.
- Manage the SEO team — keep the SEO retainer on track, traffic the deliverables, surface blockers, and make sure recommendations actually get implemented.
- Manage video editors — brief edits, traffic raw footage, review cuts, and keep the video pipeline moving.
- Get designs from designers — file the requests, supply the briefs, chase the work, and review before it goes to the founder.
- Support the founder's personal brand — coordinate LinkedIn content, podcast appearances, speaking ops, and inbound press. Help draft, schedule, and ship.
- Assist where needed — calendar, vendor coordination, light operations. This role has assistant DNA — you'll do whatever clears the founder's runway.
What You Need
Required
- 3+ years running marketing operations or projects at an agency, startup, or in-house team
- You're a project manager at the core — calendars, deadlines, briefs, status updates are second nature
- Strong written communication — you can brief a designer, recap a meeting, or chase a vendor without it sounding awkward
- Comfortable wrangling creatives, freelancers, and outside vendors (designers, video editors, SEO agencies, media buyers)
- Familiarity with the modern marketing stack — content calendars, project management tools (Asana, Notion, ClickUp, or similar), Google Workspace, Slack
- Self-directed. You take a vague ask, turn it into a plan, and come back with questions only when you need to.
- Trustworthy with sensitive info — you'll be close to financials, contracts, and personal communications
- AI-forward — you already use ChatGPT, Claude, or similar in your daily workflow and reach for AI when it'll save you time. Drafting briefs, summarizing meetings, cleaning up copy, building first-pass content calendars, researching vendors — if AI can do the first 70%, you let it. We're an AI-forward agency and we expect the same from this seat.
Nice to Have
- Ecommerce or Shopify ecosystem experience
- Experience supporting a founder or executive directly
- Basic comfort in Figma,
- Light copywriting chops — enough to draft a LinkedIn post or a case-study intro
- Paid media literacy (you don't run the ads, but you can read a report)
What This Role Is Not
- You're not writing the marketing strategy — that's the founder's seat.
- You're not the creative — designers design, writers write, editors edit. You make sure they all ship on time.
- You're not running ads or doing SEO yourself — you manage the people who do
