Job Title: Mid-Level Java Developer
Salary: €50,000 – €65,000 (Depending on Experience)
About the Role:
We’re seeking a mid-level Java Developer with a solid background in backend development to join our growing engineering team. You’ll be instrumental in building and enhancing enterprise applications, working primarily with Java EE and modern Spring Boot services. This role offers a dynamic environment where innovation and problem-solving are part of the daily workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain server-side applications using Java EE (Servlets, Tomcat, JDBC).
- Contribute to ongoing modernization efforts, particularly migrating legacy Java EE components to Spring Boot.
- Integrate external APIs by interpreting third-party specifications and implementing resilient HTTP-based communication.
- Write high-performance SQL queries and participate in database design discussions.
- Apply solid object-oriented programming practices and utilize proven design patterns.
- Break down business and technical requirements into actionable development tasks.
- Produce thorough unit and integration tests to ensure software reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical ideas clearly in English (both written and spoken).
What We’re Looking For:
- 4+ years of professional Java backend development experience.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, preferably involving legacy system migrations.
- Strong knowledge of HTTP networking and third-party API integrations.
- Solid understanding of SQL with an emphasis on optimization and performance.
- Proficiency in object-oriented design and software architecture principles.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks independently in an agile environment.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience with architectural design at the enterprise or solution level.
- Familiarity with event-driven systems and message bus architectures.
- Cloud platform experience (especially Azure PaaS/IaaS).
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
- Containerization experience with Docker.
- CI/CD pipeline knowledge, particularly using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
