🚨 We’re Still Hiring: IoT Engineer (Water IQ)
📍 Preferred base: Jakarta
Travel to NTT may be required, based on project needs
Solar Chapter, a non-profit organization dedicated to clean energy solutions and community development, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive IoT Engineer to drive the development and deployment of our remote water monitoring sensors. The IoT Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate IoT technology into solar water projects, ensuring seamless functionality and scalability. This role is excellent for candidates with experience in water monitoring systems and who are excited about turning technical innovation into meaningful impact for underserved communities.
💼 What You’ll Be Doing:
- Improve hardware design to ensure better durability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain and update older WaterIQ units (10 devices), including procurement, firmware, and documentation.
- Build and iterate on components such as sensors, solar controllers, communication modules, and mounts.
- Lead hardware testing and troubleshooting, and create documentation for replication and scaling.
- Work closely with our software engineer, product manager, and field teams to ensure smooth implementation.
- Provide technical support, training materials, and sessions for installation, troubleshooting, and sustainable operation.
👩🔧 Your Background:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar.
- 3–5 years’ experience in hardware development, preferably IoT-based.
- Familiar with microcontrollers, solar-powered systems, and hardware debugging tools.
- Strong communication skills and experience working cross-functionally.
- Ability to lead or support field technicians is a big plus.
- Passionate about social impact through technology!
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of solar energy systems, including MPPT controllers, battery management systems (BMS), PCB design and off-grid configurations, is a plus.
- Strong technical knowledge of sensors, racking systems, communication modules, and solar controllers.
- Experience with hardware testing techniques, including circuit debugging, signal analysis using oscilloscopes
