Job Description

Project – the aim you’ll have:

To design and implement a Roku-compatible streaming application or integration that enhances content delivery, improves user engagement, and provides actionable analytics for content performance — all while maintaining a seamless user experience across Roku-enabled devices.

Position – How You’ll Contribute

• Designing and developing core application features using Roku’s development environment (BrightScript, SceneGraph), with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Integrating the application with backend services, APIs, and content management systems to support dynamic and personalized video delivery.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams (designers, testers, backend developers, and product managers) to ensure smooth development and alignment with project goals.
• Setting coding standards and conducting code reviews, mentoring junior developers and ensuring high code quality across the team.

Qualifications

Expectations – the experience you need:

• Roku Development Guru: Deep expertise in BrightScript for building, debugging, and deploying production-grade Roku channels.
• Streaming Tech Savvy: Strong command of video streaming technologies, including HLS, DASH, video encoding, adaptive bitrate, and CDN integration.
• Seamless Integrator: Proficient in RESTful API integration, JSON/XML parsing, and connecting with backend services.
• Platform Navigator: Experienced with the entire Roku certification and publishing process, from developer portal to channel submission.
• Problem Solver & Leader: Exceptional debugging skills, coupled with a knack for independent problem-solving, mentoring junior developers, and fostering strong team collaboration.
