Senior TypeScript Backend Engineer with AWS

About The Role

Join a team building serverless, event-driven backend services on AWS that power multi-cloud account provisioning and identity automation. In this role, you will develop TypeScript-based solutions running on AWS Lambda, driving account onboarding, cross-account identity setup, and operational workflows across AWS and Azure environments. You will contribute to scalable, secure, and highly automated cloud services that enable efficient platform operations and user access management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize TypeScript AWS Lambda handlers that serve as entry points for orchestration workflows, API requests, and event processing
• Own and enhance backend services supporting multi-cloud account provisioning, improving automation, reliability, and operational efficiency across AWS and Azure
• Collaborate closely with cloud engineers, platform teams, and stakeholders to deliver secure identity management and seamless onboarding experiences
• Build and maintain event-driven integrations using SQS, SNS, and AWS Step Functions to trigger, advance, and monitor multi-stage workflows
• Support identity and SSO automation processes, including application registration, metadata management, certificate handling, policy configuration, and role synchronization
• Create scheduled jobs for data reconciliation between identity providers and manage database lifecycle processes, including archival, expiration handling, and notifications
• Maintain the HTTP RPC layer by implementing routing, context management, and secure CORS configurations for backend services
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests with Jest, ensuring high code quality, strong coverage, and reliable handling of asynchronous processes and edge cases

Requirements

• Expert-level TypeScript experience focused on backend application development and serverless architectures
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS SDK v3, including DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, and Step Functions
• Strong understanding of AWS Lambda, event source mappings, asynchronous processing patterns, and performance optimization
• Deep knowledge of AWS infrastructure concepts, including AWS Control Tower, cloud security, networking, and resource management
• Proven experience designing and maintaining automated tests in TypeScript using Jest for complex asynchronous workflows
• Experience building type-safe APIs, preferably using tRPC within serverless environments
• Familiarity with identity and SSO automation, including Azure AD/Entra ID integrations, SAML/OIDC configuration, or multi-account AWS IAM provisioning
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot distributed cloud-native systems
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work successfully across cross-functional teams
