Senior React Software Engineer (Next.js)

Our client is a leading British supermarket chain, ranked as the second-largest in the UK. It operates through three divisions: diverse supermarkets and convenience shops, a robust banking sector, a renowned retail brand. IF YOU ARE

• Experienced in frontend development with 3+ years of hands-on expertise, especially using React and Next.js
• Proficient in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript
• Knowledgeable in Tanstack, Chart.js, or similar tools
• Skilled in building complex dashboards and data-centric applications in production environments
• Confident in your knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 standards
• Familiar with advanced Next.js features such as SSR and API routes
• Strong in integrating RESTful APIs and rendering large data sets efficiently
• Knowledgeable about data visualization libraries and charting frameworks
• Aware of performance optimization strategies for handling and displaying large-scale data
• Comfortable using modern build tools and platforms like ESLint and Vercel
• Adept at Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows
• Competent in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for frontend applications
• Familiar with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress
• Accustomed to retail or supply chain domains (would be a strong plus)

AND YOU WANT TO

• Design, develop, and maintain dashboard interfaces and reporting tools using Next.js and React.js
• Collaborate with the backend team to integrate and display data from supply chain systems
• Work closely with data engineers to ensure future Big Data features are smoothly incorporated into the frontend
• Implement responsive and interactive UI components, ensuring scalability for growing data volumes
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and SEO
• Cooperate with stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into intuitive, data-rich user interfaces
• Build and maintain reusable code and component libraries for future use
• Collaborate in Agile teams, participate in code reviews, and contribute to the technical growth of the team
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure efficient rendering of large datasets
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and robustness
