About The Role
In this role, you will help build and evolve video collaboration software used every day in conference rooms at some of the world’s largest companies. You’ll work on products developed for a globally recognized manufacturer of computer peripherals and software, whose portfolio spans PC navigation devices, video communication and collaboration tools, audio products, smart home solutions, and more.
Responsibilities
- Customize, enhance, and optimize AOSP for enterprise video collaboration and conferencing devices
- Design, develop, and maintain Android framework components, system services, and platform features
- Work on low-level Android subsystems, including Camera, Display, Audio, Media Framework, Connectivity, and Hardware Abstraction Layers (HALs)
- Develop and integrate platform-level APIs, services, middleware, and SDK components
- Debug and resolve complex issues spanning Android applications, framework layers, native services, kernel interfaces, and hardware interactions
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Firmware, QA, and Partner Engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Prototype and evaluate new platform capabilities using the latest Android platform releases, APIs, and SDKs
- Maintain, patch, and optimize custom Chromium WebView builds integrated into AOSP to ensure reliable execution of web-based collaboration applications
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in C/C++, Java and Kotlin
- Hands-on experience with AOSP customization and Android framework development
- Experience with Android IPC mechanisms, including AIDL, Binder, JNI, and system services
- Solid understanding of multithreading, concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization
- Proven experience debugging complex issues across Android framework, native services, middleware, and hardware layers
- Strong knowledge of operating system concepts, data structures, networking, and system design
- Proficiency with Android build systems, Git, Android Studio, Gradle, and CI/CD workflows
- Experience working with media technologies such as Camera2, MediaCodec, audio/video pipelines, streaming, and real-time communications
- Strong analyzing logs and traces using tools such as Logcat, Perfetto, Systrace, Tombstones, ANR traces, and native crash dumps
- Experience writing Unit Tests, Integration Tests, and UI/Automation Tests to ensure software quality
- Upper-Intermediate or higher English level with confidence in daily communication with international teams
- Experience with WebRTC, browser engines, and real-time communication platforms (nice to have)
